Lent-(in the Christian religion) an annual season of fasting and penitence in preparation for Easter, beginning on Ash Wednesdayand lasting 40 weekdays to Easter, observed by Roman Catholic, Anglican, and certain other churches.
also, the pass tense of lend (meaning to grant the use of (something) on condition that it or its equivalent will be returned.)
Lint- minute shreds or ravelings of yarn; bits of thread. Like this.
So, one could possibly lend some lint on Lent. cool.
I decided to practice it this year for the first time too. I'm giving up sodas.
ReplyDeleteI once lent some lint for Lent, but the lint I lent didn't lend itself to lending on Lent, so I lent my lint to Len because he didn't have any lint to lend. Lenin lent some lenitive lentils to Len in Leningrad, too, but Lenin was lenient on lentil length, losing his Lentil Lens.
ReplyDeleteI don't know when playing on Lent ended up there, and some weird tongue twister began!
:)
You're goofy. I'm not sure about "on Lent" since it's a season. But, I get the idea. ;-)
